Privacy Policy

Pidoy is built around one idea: pet data is yours, and it stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not collect.
Who we are
Pidoy is built by an independent developer ("we", "us"). Contact: dev.puhgeh@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Everything you create in Pidoy — pets, photos, videos, voice notes, documents, notes, schedules, vaccines, medications, vet visits, weight readings, backups — lives in the app's local storage on your phone or tablet. We never upload, copy, or read this data unless you explicitly opt into the optional Cloud Sync subscription (which encrypts your data end-to-end before it leaves your device — see Cloud Sync below).
What we collect anonymously
To keep the app stable and improve it, we collect two narrow streams of data, both anonymous and unlinked to any account or identity:
- Crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics — stack traces, device model, OS version, app version, and a random ID for the install. No pet data, no notes, no photos.
- Usage analytics via Firebase Analytics — counts of which screens are opened and which actions are taken (e.g. "vaccine added"), grouped under a random app-instance ID that resets if you reinstall. No names, no content, no free text, and never your advertising ID. Used purely to understand which features are useful.
You can switch both streams off in Settings → Share anonymous diagnostics. Doing so stops collection going forward — there is nothing identifying to delete from past anonymous events.
Tracking and ads
We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not use advertising SDKs. We do not share data with brokers, data partners, or ad networks. Ever.
Children
Pidoy is suitable for general audiences and not directed at children under 13. The app is about tracking pets, not people, and contains no content rated above PEGI 3 / ESRB Everyone.
In-app purchases & subscriptions
Purchases (unlock packs and the Cloud Sync subscription) are processed by Apple via the App Store or Google via Google Play. We never see your card details. The platform tells the app which products are unlocked; that's all we receive.
Cloud Sync (optional)
If you opt into the Cloud Sync subscription, your pet data, photos, videos and voice notes are encrypted on your device, with a key protected by a sync passphrase only you know, and uploaded to app storage in your own cloud account. Basic uses iCloud on iPhone and iPad and Google Drive on Android; Plus uses Google Drive on every device so you can sync across platforms. We never run a server. We never see decrypted data, and we can't recover your passphrase. On Google Drive the data sits in a hidden app folder that other apps can't open.
Cancel at any time and syncing stops — your local data stays intact. To delete the synced copy, open Settings → Cloud sync → Reset cloud data in the app, or follow the steps on our data deletion page.
Backups
The Backup feature in the app exports a single .petbackup file you control. The file lives wherever you save it (Files app, Drive, AirDrop). Pidoy never sees these files leave the device.
Permissions we may ask for
- Notifications — to remind you of medication doses, vaccinations, and feeding times. All scheduled locally; we never send push notifications from a server.
- Photo library — only when you pick photos or videos for a pet, note, log or memory.
- Camera — only if you choose to take a photo or video, scan a document, or scan a pet-handoff QR code.
- Microphone — only while you record a voice note or a video.
- Local network — only when you hand a pet to another phone nearby. Nothing leaves your Wi-Fi.
Your rights
Because we do not store identifying data on a server, there is no account to delete and no profile to download. Uninstalling the app removes all local pet data. The Cloud Sync subscription (if active) can be cancelled in your App Store or Play Store account at any time. Step-by-step instructions, including how to delete a Cloud Sync copy, are on our data deletion page.
Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the date above and surface a one-time note inside the app. Trivial wording fixes will simply update the date.
