How to delete your data
Last updated: 2026-09-27
Pidoy is built and operated by an independent developer (contact: dev.puhgeh@gmail.com). Pet data lives entirely on your device. There is no Pidoy account, no Pidoy server, and no profile to delete. This page explains exactly how to remove every piece of data Pidoy holds about you.
1. Delete on-device data (everything you created in Pidoy)
This covers all of your pet data: pets, photos, videos, voice notes, documents, notes, vaccinations, medications, vet visits, weight readings, feeding schedules, walks, treats, settings, and backups.
iOS
- Long-press the Pidoy app icon on the Home Screen.
- Tap Remove app → Delete app → Delete.
- All on-device pet data is removed from your device.
Android
- Open Settings → Apps → Pidoy → Storage and cache → Clear storage to wipe data while keeping the app installed, or
- Long-press the Pidoy app icon → Uninstall.
- All on-device pet data is removed from your device.
Inside the app
To remove a pet and everything logged for it, archive the pet from its edit screen, then delete it in Settings → Archived pets; Empty archive there deletes every archived pet at once. To swap all your data for a backup's contents, open Settings → Backup & restore → Restore from backup and choose Replace all. To wipe everything, uninstall the app.
2. Stop sharing anonymous diagnostics
Pidoy collects two narrow streams of anonymous data — Firebase Analytics events and Firebase Crashlytics crash reports. Neither is linked to your name, email, or any account; events carry only a random ID for the app install. To stop new collection:
- Open Pidoy.
- Go to Settings → Share anonymous diagnostics.
- Toggle it off.
From that point forward Pidoy stops sending diagnostic events.
3. Delete your Cloud Sync copy and cancel the subscription
If you used Cloud Sync, an encrypted copy of your pet data, photos, videos and voice notes lives in app storage inside your own cloud account: iCloud for Basic on iPhone and iPad, Google Drive for Basic on Android and for Plus on every device. Pidoy never operated a server in this flow and has no access to that storage.
Delete the synced copy
- In the app: Settings → Cloud sync → Reset cloud data. This deletes everything Pidoy synced to your cloud and leaves the data on your phone alone.
- iCloud, without the app: on your iPhone or iPad, Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Pidoy → delete its data.
- Google Drive, without the app: on drive.google.com, open Settings → Manage apps → Pidoy → Options → Delete hidden app data.
Cancel the subscription
- iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Pidoy → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Pidoy → Cancel.
Cancelling stops syncing at the end of the billing period. It doesn't delete the synced copy on its own.
What is deleted, and what is kept
- All your pet data — deleted immediately when you uninstall or use Settings → Apps → Clear storage.
- Your Cloud Sync copy — deleted when you reset cloud data in the app, or delete it from iCloud or Google Drive as above.
- Anonymous diagnostic events already sent — Firebase retains these in aggregate for up to 14 months under Google's default policy. They are unlinked to you and cannot be associated with your identity. We have no way to identify your specific events to remove them, but you can request that Google's analytics/crashlytics datasets be reset by contacting us at the email below; we will action this within 30 days.
- Subscription billing records — held by Apple or Google for legal and tax purposes. Pidoy never stores card numbers.
